The Treasury Department has announced that it will extend the filing deadline for 2020 individual (1040) tax returns to May 17, 2021. Oregon will also follow the Federal filing and payment due dates.

If you have already engaged us to prepare your tax return(s), we will continue to work to meet the original April 15 deadline so that people expecting refunds may get them as soon as possible. If you have not yet given us your information, please do so as soon as possible so we can get you into our work queue.

We ask you to please limit your calls to simply check in or ask questions about the current state of affairs. We understand the uncertainty and anxiousness of the current environment. Please know that we will contact you when they are complete, if we have outstanding questions, or if any new legislation affects your filings and warrants a discussion.

Following our normal plans that have already been made, we will still be closing our office on April 16, and some of us may be taking a little time off for a well-deserved break at that time. Rest assured we will do everything we can to get your returns filed as quickly as possible.

Currently, our offices are still open for appointments. To accommodate any concerns, we are following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and have:
• Increased the cleaning and sanitation of our office
• Added additional alcohol-based sanitizer
• Informed our staff – if anyone is feeling ill, they need to stay home.
We are also here to serve you via the phone and fax, email, and using our online portal.
• All clients are encouraged to use our Secure Firm Portal to send us files and exchange documents online. You can access the portal via our website or https://www.securefirmportal.com/
